Frequently asked questions about digital insole care

Answers about NEXOS, CUBIX, measurement technology, milling and integrations – each answer stands on its own and needs no prior knowledge. If your question is missing, ask us directly.

About go-tec

Who is go-tec?

go-tec GmbH from Münster has been developing and selling software and hardware for the orthopaedic trade for more than 25 years. This includes the cloud platform NEXOS, insole and last CAD, foot scanners, pressure measurement systems, CNC milling machines and the CUBIX 3D printers for insoles. More than 2500 businesses in over 27 countries work with go-tec solutions, from single businesses to branch groups.

Who are go-tec's solutions intended for?

go-tec serves orthopaedic shoe technology businesses, medical supply stores with their own insole care and branch groups. Businesses can use individual building blocks, such as only a foot scanner or only the digital consultation, or the entire process from measurement to production.

Digital insole care

What software is there for digital insole care in a medical supply store?

go-tec NEXOS is a cloud platform for insole care in medical supply stores and orthopaedic shoe technology. It connects foot scan, digital consultation (NEXOS Fit), automated insole design (NEXOS One), last CAD (NEXOS Last Design) and production on a CNC milling machine or 3D printer. NEXOS runs in the browser, without your own server, hosted in the EU.

What is go-tec NEXOS?

go-tec NEXOS is a software platform for digital insole care. It connects insole consultation, design and production. Which functions and integrations suit your business, we clarify based on your existing systems and workflows.

What is NEXOS Fit?

NEXOS Fit is go-tec's digital consultation module for insole care. It guides staff step by step through the conversation: prescription, scan, patient history, shoe choice, recommendation of the standard fitting and upgrades, digital signature and release to production. The business stores its own professional logic once, so that consultation is the same at every location.

Can individual insoles be designed automatically?

Yes, with go-tec NEXOS One standard insoles are created automatically from scan, patient history and prescription. They are based on rules that the business's designer defines once, for example for soft zones, forefoot-to-rearfoot ratio and pad position. Special cases such as Charcot foot, amputation or complex diabetic fittings deliberately remain with manual CAD design.

Does NEXOS One replace the orthopaedic shoemaker or CAD designer?

No. NEXOS One applies the rules the specialist in the business defines and so takes over routine fittings. The business checks and releases every insole and remains the manufacturer of the custom-made product. This gives the designer more time for demanding cases.

Lasts and custom footwear

Is there software for designing lasts for orthopaedic custom shoes digitally?

Yes, go-tec NEXOS Last Design is a last CAD for orthopaedic shoe technology. Lasts are designed on screen based on a 3D foot scan, saved and recalled for follow-up fittings. The last is produced by Spenlé or other suppliers. STL export is also possible, and the last can also be printed. The foot bed is produced with CUBIX technology.

3D printing and milling

Can orthopaedic insoles be 3D printed?

Yes, with go-tec's CUBIX 3D printers, insoles with different hardness zones are printed in one piece, for example soft under the heel and firm in the midfoot. CUBIX is available as CUBIX Lite and CUBIX Pro. Printing can be done from the expert CAD InsoleCAD or automatically via NEXOS One Print.

What is the difference between CUBIX Lite and CUBIX Pro?

CUBIX Lite offers a printing process with clearly defined settings. CUBIX Pro offers more design options for zones, structures and soft areas. The right solution depends on your fittings and the design freedom you want.

How do I find out whether milling or 3D printing suits my business?

What matters are your types of fitting, materials, volumes and existing workflows. Compare the entire process including design, production and rework. go-tec helps you choose the right production method.

What is the difference between a milled and a printed insole?

A milled insole is made from a block of material and is usually completed with a top cover and padding. A 3D printed insole, for example with go-tec CUBIX, can contain different hardness zones and lattice structures in one part.

Which CNC milling machines for insoles does go-tec offer?

go-tec offers CNC milling machines for insoles from the compact GT Rocky to the GT JOE 10 and GP M320, each with central extraction. Setup, training and maintenance from Münster are included. Existing milling machines can in many cases be controlled directly.

Measurement technology

Which foot scanner suits medical supply stores and orthopaedic shoe technology?

go-tec offers 2D and 3D foot scanners: the GP FussScan S4 for 2D entry, and GT George FLAT, GT George and GT George MAX for 3D scanning up to last making. For standard insoles 2D is often enough; for foot beds or lasts a 3D scanner is needed.

How can the effect of an insole be measured?

With pressure measurement systems. go-tec's GT Impax pressure plate shows the pressure distribution when standing and rolling. The GT Radix measuring insoles measure wirelessly in the shoe, with the insole, while walking. This documents the pressure redistribution, which is especially important in diabetic care.

Integrations

Does NEXOS work with industry software such as Top M, acriba or Paedus?

go-tec NEXOS is connected to common industry software. The Top M integration is in testing with a pilot customer, acriba is in implementation, Paedus and SIC are scheduled next. Until the integration is ready, NEXOS Fit can also run on its own. go-tec gives the current status per system on request.

Switching and onboarding

Do I have to switch from GP Manager to NEXOS?

No, not immediately. GP Manager will continue to be maintained until at least 2028. Switching to NEXOS is possible step by step: first consultation with NEXOS Fit, then automated design with NEXOS One. No fixed deadline is planned.

How do branch groups introduce NEXOS?

Branch groups usually start with NEXOS at a pilot location with key figures defined in advance, such as minutes per fitting, upgrade rate and rework. This is followed by the rollout location by location. Consultation logic and design rules are defined centrally and apply at all locations.

Data protection and operation

Where is NEXOS data stored?

NEXOS is cloud software hosted in the EU. Customers receive a data processing agreement under the GDPR and the technical and organisational measures in advance. A server of your own in the business is not needed.

How is NEXOS billed?

go-tec NEXOS is billed by usage. There is no server licence to buy in advance. We are happy to calculate the economics with your own volumes.

Where do I get support?

Support for NEXOS, CUBIX and go-tec devices is based in Münster and can be reached by phone and email. Setup, training and maintenance come from one supplier.
