Measurement technology

Pressure measurement and foot scanners for insoles, diabetic care and custom footwear

Measure what the footreally does.

go-tec offers pressure measurement for insole and diabetic care: in-shoe pressure measurement with the GT Radix measuring insoles and pedography with the GT Impax pressure plate. Add to that 2D and 3D foot scanners (GP FussScan S4, GT George FLAT, GT George, GT George MAX). The measurement data go straight into NEXOS and GP Manager – no export, no intermediate file. Scan and pressure measurement are the basis of every fitting and the evidence for customer and payer.

Foot scanners

Foot scanners: 2D and 3D scanners for insoles, foot beds and custom footwear

The right scanner for every process

From the 2D scanner as the standard for your measuring booth to the 3D full-foot scan for foot beds and orthopaedic custom footwear.

  • Measurement2D
    Typical use

Standard 2D scan for the measuring booth

  • Measurement3D plantar
    Typical use

Plantar 3D scanner for foam imprints and feet directly – the basis for foot bed fittings

  • Measurement3D full foot
    Typical use

11.5 cm high full-foot scanner, suitable for insoles and custom footwear

  • Measurement3D full foot, high
    Typical use

High full-foot scanner up to 17.5 cm, suitable for insoles and complex orthopaedic footwear

Pressure measurement

Pressure measurement: in-shoe pressure measurement and pedography

Two ways to make pressure visible.

GT Impax – pedography with the pressure plate

Pressure plate

GT Impax shows the plantar pressure distribution barefoot when standing and during roll-off – static and dynamic pedography. Your customer sees the problem before you explain it.

GT Impax pressure plate for pedography
  • Static and dynamic measurement
  • High-resolution sensor matrix
  • Connection via Wi-Fi or USB
  • Ideal for initial measurement and sports analysis

GT Radix – in-shoe pressure measurement for diabetic care

Measuring insoles in the shoe

GT Radix measures the pressure in the shoe, with the insole, while walking – so you can document pressure redistribution, for example with diabetic foot beds. The manufacturer is GEBIOM in Münster; the system was formerly called GP MobilData and has been used for years in scientific studies on in-shoe pressure measurement.

GT Radix measuring insoles by GEBIOM for in-shoe pressure measurement
  • Wireless via Bluetooth
  • Insole pairs in double shoe sizes – 5 pairs included
  • Special versions for Charcot and stump
  • Meets documentation requirements for diabetic care
  • Ideal for diabetic and sports fittings

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about pressure measurement and foot scanners

Answered briefly.

What is the difference between in-shoe pressure measurement and pedography?

Pedography measures the plantar pressure distribution barefoot on a pressure plate – at go-tec with GT Impax. In-shoe pressure measurement uses measuring insoles in the shoe, with the insole and while walking – at go-tec with GT Radix. It shows whether an insole or foot bed actually redistributes pressure.

Which pressure measurement do I need for diabetic care?

For diabetic foot beds, the pressure inside the shoe is what counts. With GT Radix in-shoe pressure measurement you document pressure redistribution with the finished fitting; special versions are available for Charcot foot and stump. The GT Impax pressure plate is suitable for the initial barefoot measurement.

2D or 3D?

It depends on the result: for sensorimotor and classic biomechanical insoles, 2D is often enough. For diabetic care and foot beds you need 3D.

Can I also control other scanners?

Yes. Our GP Manager software controls numerous scanners, including third-party devices, and imports 3D data as STL, OBJ or WRL. We clarify exactly which models for your device.

Does the pressure measurement need to be calibrated?

Yes. For reliable readings we recommend annual calibration of GT Impax and GT Radix, which go-tec provides as a service.

How accurate are the go-tec foot scanners?

GT George MAX measures to ± 0.5 mm, GP FussScan S4 to ± 0.8 mm, GT George and GT George FLAT to ± 1.0 mm. The technical data of all devices are in the comparison table above.

Do I need a dark room for scanning?

No. The GT George scanners have an open design and work in normal light.

Can I finance the equipment?

Yes, via leasing with our partner MMV or by instalments through go-tec. Just ask us.

Behind every measurement

Why accurate measurement matters for the insole

Every step is a person.

A run in the park, a pain that should be gone. Behind it is the work of your business: movement becomes data, data becomes an insole that really fits. Our measurement technology makes exactly this step possible.

Which scanner suits your business?

For sensorimotor and classic biomechanical insoles in the measuring booth, the GP FussScan S4 2D scanner is usually enough. Foot beds and diabetic care need 3D: GT George FLAT scans the sole of the foot, as well as foam imprints and plaster casts. For custom footwear and lasts, GT George scans the whole foot up to 11.5 cm high, GT George MAX up to 17.5 cm for complex orthopaedic cases. You document pressure redistribution in the shoe with GT Radix in-shoe pressure measurement; pedography with GT Impax shows the barefoot pressure distribution.

20 minutes, and you will know.
